CWE-ID: CWE-404
Exploitation vector: Local access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper resource shutdown or release in the ice driver transmit queue handling when rebuilding queues after a PCI reset. A local user can enable ETF offload on a PF Tx queue and trigger a PCI reset to cause a denial of service.

The issue affects non-PF VSI types because queue state is checked by queue index without distinguishing VSI type, which can cause a 64-byte tstamp_ring allocation to be leaked on each reset.
