NULL pointer dereference in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-74403
Published: August 15, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of a NULL pointer in sev_tsm_init_locked in drivers/crypto/ccp/sev-dev.c when initializing SNP TIO under memory pressure. A local user can trigger the affected initialization path and cause a denial of service.
The issue occurs because page_address(NULL) may yield an invalid non-NULL address on architectures without HASHED_PAGE_VIRTUAL, leading to dereference of an invalid pointer.
