Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper synchronization in ext4 fast commit wait and wake handling when processing fast commit inode state transitions on 64-bit systems. A local user can trigger filesystem activity that reaches the affected wait and wake paths to cause a denial of service.
Only 64-bit systems are affected.
