Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-74352
Published: August 15, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to use-after-free in of_reserved_mem_lookup() when dereferencing the global reserved_mem pointer after alloc_reserved_mem_array() fails during post-init use. A local user can trigger access to the affected code path to cause a denial of service.
The issue occurs if dynamic allocation of the reserved_mem array fails, leaving a reference to memory stored in __initdata that is later freed.
