Vulnerability identifier: #VU142860
CSH Severity: Medium
CVSS v4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
CVE-ID: CVE-2026-74340
CWE-ID: CWE-125
Exploitation vector: Remote access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to disclose sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to out-of-bounds read in the wcn36xx_smd_print_reg_info_ind function when processing a firmware PRINT_REG_INFO indication. A remote attacker can provide a firmware-controlled count value that exceeds the actual message data to disclose sensitive information.

The issue occurs because the count field is used as a loop bound for indexing a flexible regs[] array without validation against the received message length.
