Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the mt76 offchannel link handling in mt76_put_vif_phy_link when processing concurrent TX datapath activity under RCU. A local user can trigger concurrent access to a freed offchannel link object to cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs because an existing RCU reader may continue dereferencing the pointer after it has been freed.
