Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-74328
Published: August 15, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the iommufd pages release logic when detaching from a dma-buf. A local user can trigger dma-buf invalidation callbacks during page release to cause a denial of service.
The issue occurs because the mutex could still be in use through dma-buf invalidation callbacks before the dma-buf is fully detached.
