Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-74320
Published: August 15, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to use-after-free in the sm501fb OF binding code when parsing device tree mode and EDID properties during framebuffer initialization. A local user can supply crafted property values or trigger affected initialization paths to cause a denial of service.
The issue also involves a double free, a buffer overrun, and memory leaks when both CRT and PANEL are enabled or when probe error paths are reached.
