Improper input validation in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-74281
Published: August 15, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in tipc_update_nametbl() when processing peer-advertised PUBLICATION items. A remote attacker can send specially crafted bindings with inverted service ranges to cause a denial of service.
The issue causes unbounded binding-table memory to be leaked for the lifetime of the namespace.
