CWE-ID: CWE-416
Exploitation vector: Local access

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to trigger a use-after-free.

The vulnerability exists due to a double decrement leading to a use-after-free condition in command_ioctl() when handling IO ioctl operations on gpib descriptors. A local user can trigger an error path during ioctl processing to trigger a use-after-free.

Exploitation requires a concurrent close_dev_ioctl() operation on an actively used descriptor.
