Improper Check or Handling of Exceptional Conditions in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-72457
Published: August 15, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper error handling in unpack_pdb() in AppArmor policy unpacking when processing older policy data that requires allocation of a missing ACCEPT2 table. A local user can supply crafted policy data to trigger an allocation failure and cause a denial of service.
The issue occurs because the function could return a policy database with the required ACCEPT2 table missing after an allocation failure.
