Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-72337
Published: August 16, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the Bluetooth 6LoWPAN debugfs enable handler when processing a debugfs enable write that races with module exit. A local user can trigger an enable state change and race it with module teardown to cause a denial of service.
The issue occurs because queued work can later access stale state, including listen_chan, after the debugfs operation has returned.
