CWE-ID: CWE-416
Exploitation vector: Local access

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the amdxdna umap handling in aie2_populate_range() when racing concurrent memory mapping operations with object release. A local user can trigger concurrent operations to reuse a released amdxdna_umap object and execute arbitrary code.

The issue occurs because a reference may be acquired for an amdxdna_umap while release is already in progress.
