Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-74529
Published: August 16, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to use-after-free in hci_connect_pa_sync() callback handling in net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c when processing Bluetooth periodic advertising sync connection operations. A local user can trigger the vulnerable callback flow to cause a denial of service.
The issue is theoretical and occurs if the connection object is freed while the hci_sync task is running.
