Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper resource shutdown or release in efct_hw_io_abort() when handling an I/O abort request after request tag allocation fails. A local user can trigger this error path to cause a denial of service.

The abort_in_progress flag may remain set even though the abort was never submitted, causing subsequent abort attempts for the same I/O to return an in-progress error and block recovery.
