CWE-ID: CWE-416
Exploitation vector: Local access

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a use-after-free.

The vulnerability exists due to use-after-free in the vub300_probe error path in drivers/mmc/host/vub300.c when handling a failed mmc_add_host() call after the inactivity timer has been armed. A local user can trigger a probe failure race to cause a use-after-free.

Exploitation requires a failure during device probe after the inactivity timer is armed, and the queued deadwork may continue running after the timer callback has completed.
