CVSS v4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
CVE-ID: CVE-2026-72060
CWE-ID: CWE-754
Exploitation vector: Local access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to corrupt network interface statistics and generate excessive log entries.

The vulnerability exists due to improper check for unusual or exceptional conditions in icssg_ndo_get_stats64() in the TI ICSSG ethernet driver when retrieving PA statistics on hardware without a PA stats block. A local user can trigger regular statistics polling to corrupt network interface statistics and generate excessive log entries.

The issue occurs because a negative error value is accumulated into unsigned statistics fields, resulting in incorrect rx_errors, rx_dropped, and tx_dropped counters.
