Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a memory leak in ca8210_spi_transfer() in the ca8210 IEEE 802.15.4 driver when submitting asynchronous SPI transfers. A local attacker can trigger spi_async() submission failures to cause a denial of service.

Repeated retry attempts under sustained SPI bus contention can leak a new allocation on each occurrence.
