Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to disclose sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in macsec_encrypt() when processing packets transmitted through the AF_PACKET SOCK_RAW + PACKET_QDISC_BYPASS path with an unset MAC header. A local user can send a specially crafted packet to disclose sensitive information.

The 12-byte heap over-read may be emitted on the wire as the frame's outer source and destination MAC addresses.
