Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in cfg80211_gen_new_ie() when processing a malicious EHT multi-link element in an MBSSID beacon. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted beacon frame to cause a denial of service.
The issue is triggered through a malicious access point broadcasting a short EHT MLE that is later reused while building nontransmitted BSS information.
