Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access control in Microsoft Malware Protection Engine when handling crafted local interactions. A local user can exploit the flaw to escalate privileges.

Note, the vulnerability was dubbed ShieldBreak.
