Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform server-side request forgery and disclose sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to server-side request forgery in /embed2.js when fetching a user-supplied URL. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request with an IPv6 ULA target to perform server-side request forgery and disclose sensitive information.

The issue is reachable without authentication via the /embed2.js?fetch= endpoint, and the fetched response is reflected back to the client. On dual-stack hosts, this can expose data from IPv6 ULA-addressed internal services such as instance metadata endpoints.
