Race condition in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-74638
Published: August 24, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in the v3d drm scheduler timeout handling for V3D hardware queues when handling concurrent scheduler timeouts across queues that share a global reset. A local user can trigger queue timeouts during gpu workload execution to cause a denial of service.
The issue can leave the CL queue credit count inconsistent, resulting in a complete GPU hang and UI freeze.
