Improper Initialization in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-74617
Published: August 24, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper initialization in the dibs interrupt handling path when handling GID event interrupts before device registration is fully completed. A local attacker can trigger an interrupt on a device with an uninitialized lock to cause a denial of service.
The issue occurs because the interrupt handler may access dibs->lock before dibs_dev_add() is called.
