Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to out-of-bounds read in CESI.cpp when opening a crafted HTML or XML file for automatic character encoding detection. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a crafted file to cause a denial of service.

The issue is a 1-byte read past the end of the buffer during meta tag parsing.
