Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to disclose sensitive information and cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to out-of-bounds read in fb_io_read() when processing a read operation after a partial copy_to_user() result. A local user can provide a faulty user buffer to trigger pointer desynchronization and disclose sensitive information and cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs because the source pointer can become over-advanced relative to the remaining byte count after a partial copy.
