Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the vfio_ccw device workqueue handling when closing or releasing a device with pending work items. A local user can trigger device close or release while queued work is still pending to execute arbitrary code.
