Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper locking in the xfs dirtree repair code when deleting a self-referential directory. A local user can trigger processing of a self-referential directory to cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs when the directory being repaired refers to the same inode as the directory entry target.
