Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to stale cached configuration data in ASoC SOF ipc4-topology copier widget setup when handling suspend and resume cycles. A local user can trigger stream reallocation after suspend and resume to cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs because persisted widget state can cause reused IPC payloads to retain outdated DMA channel assignments.
