Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper resource shutdown in ovpn key slot crypto teardown when freeing AEAD transforms from an RCU callback. A remote attacker can trigger release of crafted key material handling to cause a denial of service.

The issue affects crypto implementations where AEAD transform teardown may sleep, including async or hardware-backed implementations.
