Out-of-bounds read in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-80706

Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in fw_parse() in the Softing CAN firmware loader when parsing a crafted firmware blob. A local user can provide a truncated firmware record to cause a denial of service.
The issue is triggered while processing firmware records composed of a header, payload, and trailing checksum.
