Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to interfere with another process's active GPU debug session.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access control in KFD_IOC_DBG_TRAP_DISABLE in the amdkfd kfd chardev ioctl handler when processing a debug trap disable request for another process. A local user can invoke the ioctl through /dev/kfd to interfere with another process's active GPU debug session.

The issue affects cross-process debug operations and occurs when the caller lacks ownership or an active ptrace authorization for the target process.
