Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to use-after-free in hci_connect_acl_sync() and hci_connect_le_sync() callbacks in net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c when processing Bluetooth connection operations. A local user can trigger a race condition to cause a denial of service.

The issue is described as theoretical and occurs if the connection object is freed while the hci_sync task is running.
