Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to disclose sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in ntfs_external_attr_find() when reading a crafted on-disk $ATTRIBUTE_LIST while processing an inode with a non-zero lowest_vcn. A local user can supply a specially crafted ntfs filesystem image to disclose sensitive information.

User interaction is required to mount or otherwise access the crafted filesystem image.
