CWE-ID: CWE-416
Exploitation vector: Local access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in TP_printk() handling in drivers/ufs/core/ufs_trace.h when reading UFS trace events from the tracing subsystem after the saved pointer has become invalid. A local user can read the trace file and trigger dereferencing of a freed pointer to cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs because the trace event stored a pointer and TP_printk() dereferenced it later when the event was read, potentially long after the original object had been freed.
