The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the hfsplus btree node size handling when mounting a corrupted HFS+ filesystem image. A local user can mount a specially crafted filesystem image to cause a denial of service.
The issue is triggered while loading the catalog during the filesystem mounting process.
