Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-80642
Published: August 28, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to use-after-free in the liveupdate incoming FLB data handling when subsystems retain incoming FLB data for extended use during a live update. A local user can trigger access to freed FLB data to cause a denial of service.
The issue can arise during device enumeration while incoming File-Lifecycle-Bound data is being held beyond its initial retrieval.
