Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference in mt7996_init_tx_queues() when initializing transmit queues with a missing WED pointer. A local attacker can trigger the vulnerable code path to cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs only when MT76_NPU and CONFIG_NET_MEDIATEK_SOC_WED are enabled and the Airoha NPU SoC is properly detected.
