Out-of-bounds write in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-80629
Published: August 28, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds write in the octeontx2-af NPC MCAM entry-to-counter mapping logic when handling MCAM entry and counter mapping for reserved entries. A local user can trigger allocation and mapping of a reserved MCAM entry counter to cause a denial of service.
The issue is triggered by AF-reserved MCAM rules such as CPT second-pass entries.
