Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause inconsistent framebuffer console state.

The vulnerability exists due to improper state management in fb_set_var() callers when processing display mode changes through sysfs or driver code. A local user can invoke a display mode change to cause inconsistent framebuffer console state.
