Race condition in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-80885
Published: September 6, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to trigger processing of out-of-band messages after a network namespace is no longer live.
The vulnerability exists due to improper synchronization in the AFS RxRPC out-of-band message handler when processing queued RxRPC out-of-band messages during network namespace teardown. A remote attacker can send an RxRPC out-of-band message to trigger processing after the namespace is no longer live.
