Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to allocation of resources without limits or throttling in the TOML parser's dotted-key handling when parsing untrusted TOML input containing deeply nested dotted keys. A remote attacker can submit a TOML document with a deeply nested dotted key to cause a denial of service.

Exploitation requires an application to parse externally supplied TOML input with TomlMapper.
