Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to failure to release memory in nfs4_server_common_setup() when handling failed NFSv4 mount attempts. A local user can repeatedly attempt to mount an unavailable or incompatible NFSv4 export to cause a denial of service.

Each failed mount attempt leaks a 4 KiB delegation hash table allocation.
