Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to read beyond the end of received data.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in reparse_buf_ptr() when processing SMB responses with an OutputCount smaller than six bytes. A remote attacker can send an SMB response containing truncated reparse data to read beyond the end of received data.
