Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of non-resident attribute offsets in the NTFS attribute conversion logic when converting non-resident NTFS attributes between sparse and non-sparse formats. A local user can supply a malicious MFT record to cause a denial of service.
