Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a mismatch between reader-page metadata and allocated memory.

The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in ring_buffer_alloc_read_page() when resizing ring-buffer subbuffers while allocating a reader page. A local user can race reader-page allocation with a subbuffer-order change to cause a mismatch between reader-page metadata and allocated memory.
