The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a null pointer dereference in the RDMA uverbs UVERBS_METHOD_REG_MR handler when registering a memory region through the ioctl interface. A local user can invoke the register memory region operation without user hardware data to cause a denial of service.
