Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to trigger a use-after-free condition.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the command receiver cleanup logic of _ipmi_destroy_user() when concurrently destroying an IPMI user and handling IPMB get-message commands. A local user can race command receiver destruction with RCU-protected command receiver lookups to trigger a use-after-free condition.
