Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to trigger a use-after-free.

The vulnerability exists due to missing reference management in mctp_route_lookup() when processing packets on the receive or forwarding path. A local user can race route-device teardown with route lookup to trigger a use-after-free.

No CAP_NET_RAW capability is required.
