Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a null pointer dereference in get_cache_segment() in the dm-pcache cache_segment component when processing a crafted cache image. A local user can provide a crafted cache image to cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs when cache_info.n_segs is smaller than the physical device segment count.
